Obituary for Josephine Elaine "Joie" Tester

Josephine Elaine Tester, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2019, at the Cape Cod Hospital in Barnstable, Massachusetts. By her side was her husband for over 60 years, and the love of her life, Lymon Ervin Tester.

"Joie", as she was known to her family and friends, was born on October 31st, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Earl and Ruby Anthony. She lived most of her life in the Little Rock area until her retirement in 2013 from the State of Arkansas Insurance Department. She loved to dance and was passionate about horses and animals of all kinds. Not only a loving wife and mother, Joie was a selfless daughter, caring for her mother Ruby for many years.

After retirement, Joie and Ervin moved to Plymouth, Massachusetts, to be near their only child, Kimberly. Some of Joie’s favorite New England pastimes were picking out flowers in the spring to adorn her home and deck, and spending relaxing evenings going out for a seacoast dinner with her family. Above all, Joie especially enjoyed the Christmas season with it's gift wrapping, tree decorating, stocking stuffing, and the many Hallmark movies that aired throughout the holiday season.

Joie is survived by her husband Ervin, sister Debbie Mitchell and her husband Rick, daughter Kimberly Kudym and her husband Don, step-grand daughter Holly Pike, step-great grandson Ryan Worcester, and her lovable rag doll cat Misty.

There will be no funeral service or memorial. Joie's ashes are to be scattered atop Cadillac Mountain in Maine as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the ASPCA in memory of Joie.
