Jan Hermann Gåseidnes of Bourne, MA passed away on Tuesday, October 29 th from complications from
Parkinson’s Disease. Jan was 76.

Born on March 5, 1943 in Ålesund, Norway, Jan was the son of late Knut and Magnhild Gåseidnes. His
career as a Norwegian Merchant Marine spanned more than forty years. Jan and his wife Judith lived in
Norway until 1992 when they moved to the United States. Jan was always busy with improvement
projects and tending to his garden. He was a devoted father and friend; his kindness, compassion and
infectious laughter will be missed.

Jan is survived by his wife, Judith Gåseidnes of Bourne, his son Geir Gåseidnes (Joellen Gåseidnes) of
Belfast, ME, his daughter Lynn Alderman (N. Scott Alderman) of Clifton Park, NY, his brother Knut
Gåseidnes (Siri), his brother Odd Gåseidnes, his sister Else Gåseidnes (Malvin), and six grandchildren
Scotty, Alexander, Stella, Bixby, Jannicke and Andreas. He is also survived by many loving nieces,
nephews and great-grandchildren. Jan is preceded in death by his son Jan Helge Gåseidnes.
