Obituary for Maurice Roland Barrett Jr.
Maurice R Barrett, Jr. or West Wareham, MA, passed away on Saturday, December 15 at 76 years of age. He leaves his wife, Nancy Murphy Barrett of West Wareham, his stepsons; Joseph Ruscio and his wife Melissa of West Wareham and Francis Ruscio of Weymouth. He is survived by his brothers; John Barrett of Middleboro and Wayne Allum of Pembroke, as well as his nieces and nephews and his new granddaughter, Vivianna Ruscio.
Maurice, known as Rollie to family and friends, served as a Marshfield Police Officer for 32 years with the Marshfield Police Department. He was very proud of his service and his fellow officers.
Rollie and his wife enjoyed trips around New England on his motorcycle for many years. He was a good man of good humor who loved to laugh and tell funny stories. Sadly, dementia stole that away from him and stole him away from his loved ones. It was his wish that he be remembered with donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
Funeral Arrangements are private but family is planning a memorial cookout in the summer to honor Rollie.
