Obituary for Marie Deborah DeMeo

Marie DeMeo of Lynn, formerly of Chelsea, passed away on December 30, 2018 in Salem surrounded by her family. Marie was born in Malden on August 29, 1953. She married the love of her life, Dennis when she was just 18. Together they shared 46 years of marriage. They met while sitting on some steps in East Boston and the rest was history. Education was very important to Marie, as such, she attended college at both Bunker Hill Community College and Northeastern University.
Marie spent many years working in finance at Partners Healthcare in Charlestown before retiring as an administrative assistant to the Dean of the Medical Imaging Program at Bunker Hill Community College. She also enjoyed working summers at Wonderland Dog Track.
In her free time, Marie enjoyed going on rides for coffee with her husband; sitting at the beach and watching the ocean. She was a talented and creative writer and wrote many odes for her loved ones. Marie was someone who left an impression; she was quick witted and would often tell others her “words were her swords” which was conveyed through her sarcasm and hilarity. Marie’s family was very important to her and she was extremely proud of her daughter for following her dream and becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner.
She will be sorely missed but remembered forever through memories and stories from family and friends.

Marie was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Mary Curcio, brother Anthony, son Michael and sister-in-law Ruth. She is is survived by her husband Dennis of Lynn, daughter Maria of Reading, brother Michael and his companion Deb of Orleans and his children Rachel and Michael, brother Christopher Curcio and his wife Jennifer of Peabody and their children Elizabeth and Anthony, grand-daughters Jessica, Lauren, Alexandria and Sydney and daughter-in-law Sandra DeMeo-Branga of Peabody and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will be having a private ceremony to celebrate her life.
