Obituary for Kevan Michael Joyce

Kevan Michael Joyce , 50 of Pembroke MA died suddenly on Wednesday, December 12th 2018 .Kevan was born on April 8th 1968 in Brockton and grew up in Hanson MA. Kevan is the son of Kathleen Finn Joyce and the late Michael Joyce. Kevan attended Whitman Hanson Regional High School and Curry College graduating with a bachelors degree in Business. Kevan had been employed at VMWare for the past 11 years and currently holds the position of Strategic Pursuit Leader. Kevan is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen Lyon Joyce of 25 years and his daughters Kaitlyn and Kristen-Mary Joyce. Brother of Brian Joyce and his wife Michelle, Mark Joyce and his wife Kim. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kevan also had many close friends and the hockey community that he considered family.
Kevan played hockey for Whitman-Hanson High School, Curry College, Team Massachusetts and continued playing for various teams on the South Shore. He was fortunate enough to travel all over the world playing his favorite sport. Kevan coached hockey for many years for the Bay State Breakers, Rockland High School Boys Varsity Hockey team, DAJ Hockey and Boston Bruins Alumni camps.
Kevan had the biggest heart and he was known for being a man who spent more time helping others than himself. Hockey Cares Inc, Hug Foundation, Greg Hill Foundation, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, Myasthenia Gravis Foundation , Hold the Line Foundation, Claddagh Fund, Walk for Hunger, St Baldrics, MA down Syndrome, Prader Willi Syndrome are just some of the charities that he was involved with. All of these charities are near and dear to his heart but his passion, along with his family, was supporting and playing for the Boston Bruins Alumni team.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours with be held on Monday, December 17th from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter’s Church, 86 Court Street, Plymouth on Tuesday, December 18th at 10:30 am.
