What I learned from Jiffy.  No matter the personal challenges I can still step up show compassion for others and make a positive difference.  I am grateful to Jiffy and I am still learning from her example.

Recently, I found out about Jiffy’s passing. I met Jiffy at an outdoor education camp working with kids in 1989. We were close friends but lost touch. Twenty eight years later Jiffy and I reconnected. We emailed back and forth, and we were instantly close again. I am so grateful for this reunion. Our renewed friendship taught me much about myself. From this I am a better husband and father.
I loved how much happiness Jiffy took with any of my accomplishments and good fortunes. She and my wife became Facebook friends. Jiffy would often comment “Awesome!” for the pictures of my son and I playing.
The writings she sent to me are filled with honesty, joy, compassion, hardships, understanding and wisdom. They are a true inspiration. I am amazed at how positive she could be amidst so much pain.
Jiffy – I love and miss you dear friend. Reconnecting with you was an incredible gift.

In grief of loss, and in gratitude for her spirit, it might be best to forget the flowers and support burn survivors in your community, my cousin would love to know you are supporting other survivors. Maybe flowers are easier but supporting survivors means more than a bouquet. It will last longer. Perhaps we might start one in her name to be continual. I would like to but not able at this time yet.... oh Jifka you are missed, so beloved, so missed

Jifka,
I don’t know where to begin. You saw the beauty in everyone and everything. You are a free spirit. You didn’t judge anyone and accepted people as they were. You are a brilliant writer. You are brilliant in general. You are so strong. You inspired and touched many people’s lives. You are an old soul, lover of nature and we shared a very similar outlook on the world. I feel blessed that I got to know you. The time we spent together was meaningful and I will miss you.
I love you Jifka.
