Obituary for Jeffrey David Futch

Jeffrey David Futch 72, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, March 29,2019. Born on May 6, 1946, he grew up in Texas and California, moving to Bourne, MA and settling in Brant Rock, MA. Graduating from Bourne High School in 1965, he left a lasting legacy. He will be forever known as "The Toe" for his field goal record of 46 yards that still stands today. As a proud Army Veteran, he received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 2 Oversea Bars, Sharp Shooter, and A Purple Heart as a member of 535th Combat Engineers, attached to the 25th Infantry Division serving in Cu Chi Vietnam 1967-1968. Jeff's love of motorcycles took him on many adventures introducing him to Bob Olsen and Jim Asadoorian, who became his best friends. Jeff will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his warmth and his willingness to help others. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Futch, daughters Kim Blackmon and Kristin Wright(Russell), son Jason Leslie, grandchildren Trista Hensley, Dylan Platt and Rachel Wright, great granddaughters Erin and Taylor Powell, brother Bob Williams, sister Sherri Tatum and his fur kids NaNook, Sadie and Brandi. A private ceremony will be held at a later date with Interment at Bourne National Cemetery. Jeff will be greatly missed.
