Obituary for James Kelleher

Kelleher, James, 65, of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by family on January 8th, 2019. He was born in Brockton, the son of the late Madeline (Keaney) and Edward Kelleher. He was the husband of the late Kathleen (Weir) Kelleher.

Jim grew up in Halifax, graduating from Silver Lake Regional High School. After graduating he joined the Army, where he was in the 82nd Airborne, following in his father's footsteps, who was in the 101st Airborne. After his release from the military, he began working for the United States Postal Service, where he was employed for 30 years.

He loved spending his time listening to classic rock, watching the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox and his most loved sport of boxing. Jim retired early and enjoyed working around the house doing carpentry, plumbing or any project his home needed. Mostly though he enjoyed spending his time with the love of his life, his granddaughter Lacy.

Jim is survived by his son Kevin and Rebecca Kelleher of Plymouth and his daughter, Kristen and John Whitehouse of Norwell. He was the grandfather of Lacy Kelleher, Priscilla and Cecilia Whitehouse. He also leaves behind his sister Rosemarie Kelleher of NC as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 12th from 3-6 pm. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:15 am on Tuesday, January 15th. Friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
