Obituary for Dorothy L Burnell (Gilbert)
Dorothy “Louise” Burnell, 90 years old, died peacefully on December 5th at Sippican Nursing home in Marion, MA with her family by her side.
She was the wife of the late Neil W. Burnell Sr. A 70 year resident of Brockton, MA; Louise was born in Boston, MA and was the daughter of the late George Gilbert and Dorothy (Vickery-Gilbert) MacLean. She was a graduate of Randolph High School and worked for many years in manufacturing at both the King Size Company and The Mutron Company; both in Brockton, MA.
She is survived by two sons, Neil W. Burnell Jr. of Bradenton, FLA and Richard A. Burnell of Wareham, MA Four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Phillip W. Gilbert of VT and sister Barbara (Gilbert) Ingersoll of NH.
She was the mother of the late Paul G. Burnell and sister of the late Paul K. Gilbert, John “Jack” A. Gilbert, and Elsie (Gilbert) Rollins.
Funeral Arrangements will be under the care of Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street Plymouth MA 02360
Services will be held at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Thursday, December 27th at 9:00 am, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
